about us...

The author José Hofstede lives in the Netherlands in a small village by a river. The first time she talked about Brave Hunter was during a holiday trip to Corsica with her nephew Neston and niece Alice. They just loved the stories about this courageous and brave man and couldn't get enough of it. Back home they invited their friends to listen to the stories their aunt was telling. The adventures of Brave Hunter started spreading around and it wasn't long before parents were asking for a book of Brave Hunter's adventures. Now some of these stories are published and available for everyone to read.

When José is not writing or visiting schools you can find her walking her dogs in the woods or along the river. She is also very keen on water sports and loves to swim and sail.

The illustrator Ton Derks also lives in a village in the Netherlands. Making illustrations has been his life long passion as you can see in the detailed drawings he has made. He is meticulous and doesn't skip the smallest thing. Just have a close look at his illustrations and you find many neat details.

Ton is a fervent fisherman and when he is not holding a pencil in his hand he is definitely holding a fishing rod. He loves to sit near the water and relax in nature.
